Getting lost in Shinjuku Station

My short-stay apartment is in Shinjuku, which means that I come to Shinjuku Station to come home every night. Which means that I’ve gotten hopelessly lost in the station a few times already, both alone and accompanied by people who know Tokyo well. Shinjuku Station is the main connecting hub for all rail traffic in Tokyo. It’s enormous, to say the least. In 2007, it was used by an average of 3.64 million people per day, making it the world’s busiest transportation hub (registered in the Guinness Book of World Records). It has 36 platforms, an underground arcade, numerous hallways, and well over 200 exits. So, you can’t blame me for not being able to find the right exit. But don’t worry, I’ve always found my way eventually.
